Ford launches Focus RS upgrade kit

You remember the limited edition Ford Focus RS500. Well according to Ford, it has sold out already, meaning our dreams of owning one are well and truly over. So, to lessen the disappointment of those who narrowly missed out on owning one of the 101 versions of the matte black RS500, the lovely people at Ford – in collaboration with leading British engineering company Mountune – have launched an MP350 modification kit for current and new owners of the standard RS model. For just £1,995 Focus RS owners can now own an RS with the same speed and power as the "fastest-ever Focus road car" – 350bhp and a top speed of 165mph – just not with the splendid matte black paintjob that had us at hello. And let's be honest – that's the real reason everyone wanted the RS500.

"Focus RS500 has raised the Ford performance bar in every way – it’s the fastest-selling model in Ford’s UK history, with five times more customers than we had cars for," says Mark Simpson, Ford Britain marketing director.

"The MP350 kit has been developed to meet some of this additional demand and allow enthusiasts with cars in standard tune to enjoy even greater performance, without endangering their warranty. If you couldn’t get an RS500, which sold out within seven days, this is the next best thing," he added.
